We are a growing organization, and we are seeking a Documentation and Technical Support Engineer to join our Clean Technology Systems division. Together, with the momentum of our business vision, we can achieve international success and added innovation in all of the themes which Dürr influences at a global level.

Location: Southfield, MI

Position Summary:  Produce documentation for end users and assist the Dürr project team with creation and maintenance of key project documentation in SAP.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities      

  • Work with the SAP materials team to search for, create, update, and properly document materials within the SAP Material Master database.
  • Work with the product managers to establish, create, maintain, and handle standard materials and Bills of Materials in SAP and other associated formats.
  • Work with the project teams to implement usage of standard Bills of Materials.
  • Work with the project teams to create, maintain, and handle project-specific materials and Bills of Materials in SAP.
  • Work with the project teams to link the SAP Bills of Materials to Microsoft Visio process and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Assemble and produce project documentation for end users. This may include, but is not limited to, operation and maintenance manuals, parts lists, recommended spare parts lists, equipment data sheets, and instrumentation lists.
  • Assemble and produce the Dürr EcoDocu User Manual from SAP project data.
  • Coordinate as needed with purchasing, Dürr SAP groups, other Dürr documentation groups, engineering, and project management on implementation of new procedures and tools as they arise.

  • Technical Associates Degree
  • Knowledge of SAP or desire to learn SAP
  • Engineering technical acumen
  • 2 - 5 years of position-related experience preferred
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Ability to learn and utilize Microsoft Visio and Visual Plant Engineer
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Technical writing capabilities
  • Ability to understand and maintain project schedules
  • Good time management skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Able to effectively communicate with engineering and estimating departments, contractors, suppliers, and customers
  • Able to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Adaptable to change in a learning environment
  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when necessary

Physical Demands: While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision
