We are a growing organization, and we are seeking a Technical Service Engineer to join our Paint and Final Assembly division. Together, with the momentum of our business vision, we can achieve international success and added innovation in all of the themes which Dürr influences at a global level.

Location: Fremont, CA

Position Summary: Technical Service Engineer is responsible for onsite troubleshooting and project management for industrial automated conveyor mechanical systems and final assembly automation equipment. Initial responsibility will be to support the launch of a new final assembly system at a production facility leading into an "on site" antenna position. As an antenna, the successful incumbent will be responsible to develop, pursue and lead additional sales opportunities within the Paint and Final Assembly arena.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities     

  • Manage mechanical aspects of optimization, modification services and projects.
  • Onsite support for installed automated conveyor and automation systems.
  • Extensive customer interface..
  • Participate in all site activities related to conveyor and automation equipment including supporting commissioning, launch and ramp up support.
  • Following on in a site based Antenna role, provide customer support, attend customer meetings and actively pursue additional modification and expansion opportunities at the facility.
  • Extended hours may be necessary as work load's dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Flexibility of travel a must to support additional customers as necessary.

Qualifications                  

  • Five or more years of relevant experience
  • Knowledgeable in various Final Assembly conveyor system and automation tooling technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Ability to communicate with internal groups of different disciplines as well as with customers, management and skilled trades.
  • Able to manage time, understand schedules and priorities.
  • Familiar with instrumentation and process control

Physical Demands: While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision.
