  • Paint and Final Assembly Systems: paint shops and final assembly systems for the automotive industry
  • Application Technology: robot technologies for the automatic application of paint as well as sealants and adhesives Measuring and Process Systems: balancing and cleaning systems as well as testing and filling technology
  • Clean Technology Systems: exhaust-air purification systems and energy-efficiency technology
  • Woodworking Machinery and Systems: machinery for the woodworking

We are a growing organization, and we are seeking a Key Account Manager to join our Clean Technology Systems division. Together, with the momentum of our business vision, we can achieve international success and added innovation in all of the themes which Dürr influences at a global level.


Location: Southfield, MI

Position Summary: The Key Account Manager will be responsible for identifying and developing market opportunities for OEM equipment and Aftermarket service, calling on key accounts, establishing and managing relationships with customers,  supporting independent sales representatives. Knowledge of and past experience with clients throughout the southern U.S. is an advantage.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities        


  • Analyze and identify opportunities to secure new businesses from customer base and optimize profit and increase revenues. Develops new customers, and strategies for increasing sales and revenues within existing and new customers.
  • Coordinate with business development and marketing managers to drive growth and achieve all targets
  • Establish and maintain relationships with senior buyers, design engineers and key decision makers within each
  • Keep CRM updated and prepare monthly sales forecast and target account pipeline updates for assigned accounts within the CRM system.
  • Maintain CRM to identify and organize customer objectives, specific sales information, and forecasts for specific accounts and industries.
  • Follow up on all assigned leads and enter the results in the company's CRM system.
  • Establish effective internal communications regarding customers, products and services in order to maximize sales effectiveness.
  • Develop sales presentations tailored to the potential customer needs and requirements.
  • Devise and execute strategies to meet sales goals for assigned territories and accounts.
  • Participate in relevant trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of trends and developments in the industry.
  • Estimate and develop proposals as required and confirm with Applications Engineering.
  • Responsible for setting strategy on project bidding in concert with the Director of Sales and Applications Engineering and sales agent(s). Enlist proper corporate resources to evaluate offerings.
  • Conduct all business practices in accordance with CTS business conduct policies. Report any problems of serious nature immediately.
  • Manage travel expenses within policy guidelines.
  • Travel as needed, 30 50% should be anticipated.

Nonessential Functions:


  • Perform other duties as assigned




  • Bachelor's degree, technical degree preferred
  • A minimum of four years selling tangible industrial technical solutions and products preferred
  • Experience with developing effective strategies and selling proposals
  • General process engineering knowledge and previous work with air pollution control equipment and systems preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with CRM a plus.
  • Ability to understand and maintain project schedules
  • Good time management skills with the ability to determine priorities
  • Strong sales and leadership skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Good technical writing skills
  • Excellent persuasion, diplomatic and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop projects that are not apparent to existing customers through observation and identification of opportunities during plant visitation
  • Able to effectively communicate with engineering and estimating departments, contractors, suppliers, and customers
  • Able to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Able to technically define problems and propose solutions
  • Adaptable to change in a learning environment



Physical Demands: While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision.
